Poco Homemade [Bangsar]

I was clicking on my 'refresh' button on my Facebook news feed, and eep...! Well, I have to admit that most of the desserts page can easily distract me but YOU! You have completely taken away all my attention...!

Unfortunately, I have moved out from KL for quite some time and wasn't quite familiar with the routes over there *I use to have my personal chauffeur during college... wink*. Poco Homemade was on my list ever since then. And recently, Eunice, Phoebe & I, we made a trip to KL again to attend Meisin's wedding. And so....  : )

All 3 of us, ordered Matcha Soy as recommended by Eunice. It tastes kinda different from the other Matcha flavored beverages we used to taste at Starbucks or Coffee Bean. The combination of the lightly scented Matcha aroma and unsweetened soy milk can be so-so-soooo satisfying. And, I simply love the cutlery used in this tiny shabby crib :)

One of our favorite dish, Dacquoise (RM12). The pastry itself has a very light texture. And it is my first time trying a salted Matcha dessert. I can't find the right word to describe how its like, but it taste just as good as salted caramel!

Rum Mascarpone (RM12). We didn't have any second thought when we saw this on the menu. All 3 of us pointed at the same dish and gave each other the agreeable look ;) Good rum desserts are not easy to come by, especially back home in Malaysia, there isn't a great variety of alcohol desserts due to religion restriction. Well, Imma big fan of Rum & Raisin. I manage to salvage every single bite until the bottom of the glass bottle.

Eunice hesitated when she recommended me this Homemade Tofu Cake (RM9). This is her top of the list but she kinda had a bad experience that some of her friends didn't quite appreciate the combination of tofu and cake. But if you are someone like me, who prefer a light texture, lightly scented dessert. I bet you gonna love it :)

Another interesting thing about Poco Homemade, they actually update their Facebook page on a daily basis. You get to see a dessert menu like what you see above. Full of surprises! : )

Lady Mindeulle 레이디 민들레 - Spring / Summer Preview

Em by The River [Singapore]

Well, I have to admit that I was pretty much influenced by Marty's strong recommendation that this is a good place for brunch and coffee. Guess, this is my 3rd attempt finding this place whereby the one who recommended the place didn't really have a good sense of direction, and we failed epically during the first 2 attempts.

This restaurant is located at Robertson Quay. Me and colleague, Wing & her boyfie went for brunch during Labor Day. We took a slow walk from Clarke Quay and manage to get there in 15mins... Well, they serve all day breakfast (9am-3pm) and you get to pamper your tummy abit even if you have a love-hate relationship with your bed on your day off!

What I like about this place is probably the quiet atmosphere as compare to the other few restaurants along the river. At first, I was still in doubt if it's gonna be as good as I was told by looking at the crowd level on a public holiday... But then, the coffee appear to be quite a decent one... :)

I'm a egg person. I order egg dishes for brunch wherever I go, be it sunny side-up, scramble, or poached. I remember the time when I was young, my mom can always leave home at ease as long as there is sufficient eggs supply at home. Well, it still works for me now ;)

My portion of Eggs Royale ($14) and look at how the poached egg is perfectly cooked with Hollandaise sauce over the smoked salmon and a fluffy muffin base.

There are so many more restaurants for brunch along Robertson Quay. I have once tried Toby's Estate Cafe but didn't have much pictures taken to blog about due to the heavy crowd. Perhaps, I should spend more time to explore this riverside... :)

Coming back, reincarnated.

Well, there has been some drastic changes in my life lately. And yes, I have completely removed my earlier blog which I have ém with me for the past 8 years? Can't really remember the exact day that I started writing.

At first, I was quite reluctant to start this all over again... Yet, I didn't really want my emotions to take over. I can't deny that blog writing has gain me plenty of experiences. And also, knowing some great people in my life. Including some of my current close girlfriends like Eunice, Natalie... They were my readers in the earlier stage and ended up being some of the important people in reality.

I'm a food hunter, particularly desserts and brunches. I always have people coming to me, asking if there is any restaurants or cafe that I could recommend them on a special day, or a casual day out. So, I guess this blog will probably contain more 'informative' articles rather than focusing on my own life. Nuff said. And, let's start! :)
